The Glen Carbon Community Events Committee is currently underway in planning the 2013 Glen Carbon Homecoming which will take place on Friday, June 14th and Saturday, June 15th. Through the generous donations from businesses and residents, the Glen Carbon Homecoming has become a successful growing community event which had a record breaking attendance of over 10,000 last year.
The festivities will be held on Main Street in "Old Town" and will include food and drink booths, nightly live entertainment, games and carnival rides. We will also kick-off Saturday night with a parade and a fireworks presentation.
We would like to invite businesses and residents to help promote a stronger community by hosting a booth or sponsoring the 2013 Glen Carbon Homecoming. We appreciate your support and look forward to another successful Homecoming event.
The 2013 Glen Carbon Homecoming proudly features a 16-passenger hot air balloon tethered ride that will ascend approximately 100 feet in the air for about 5 minutes before coming back down to earth.
Balloon flights will occur approximately every 8 minutes beginning at 8:00 p.m. Friday, June 14th. Cost is $12.50 per passage. For reservations, please click on the link below and reserve your space(s) now!

Covered Bridge 5K &
1 Mile Fun Run

Join us for the Covered Bridge 5K Run and 1 Mile Fun Run. The race starts and ends in historic Glen Carbon, Illinois. This race is held in conjunction with the Glen Carbon Homecoming festivities. This will be a flat and fast course that will run on the beautiful, wooded and paved bicycle trails. All runners under 12 who participate in either run will receive a finisher medal and all race participants are invited to walk in the parade at 5 PM Saturday.
